White and Red, from Varietals to Exclusive Selections

From pure varietal wines to rare top selections. From the tickle of sparkling wine to nobly sweet specialties. Alto Adige's winemakers offer their following a range of products that is unique for such a small winegrowing region.

Alto Adige’s white wines are at the very peak of Italian winegrowing quality. Above all else, the varieties of Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, and Sauvignon Blanc create very balanced wines filled with character. When aged in small oak casks, the Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio of this province yield complex, prized wines in the international style. With the red varieties, we find the fresh, fruity Schiava alongside the original Lagrein, as well as Pinot Noir in the best Burgundy style, along with cuvées of Bordeaux varieties which, with regard to versatility, concentration, and potential for development, have no need of shying away from international comparison at the highest level.

One rare specialty is Alto Adige sparkling wine, produced from the three varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir. And the dessert wines, usually made from the varieties Moscato Rosa, Moscato Giallo, or Gewürztraminer, regularly create quite the rage at competitions.
