Wine growing has a long tradition on the slopes between Bolzano and Renon. The wine trail between these two municipalities, with its picturesque "wine staircase", winds through the vineyards of Signat/Signato and S. Giustina/S. Giustina down to Rentsch/Rencio. This 3.5 km path symbolizes the close collaboration between tourism and agriculture. Along the way you can admire breathtaking views of the Dolomites and artistic installations illustrating the rich history of wine production.

The route can be walked in either direction, from Signat/Signato to Rentsch/Rencio or vice versa. The beautiful vineyards along the way are a highlight, but sturdy footwear is required for the 500 metres of altitude difference.

Alone or in company, this trail is a must for wine and nature lovers. The trail offers tranquil moments in the vineyards while exploring the rich history of South Tyrolean winemaking. Autumn, winter and spring are the best times to experience the landscape at its most breathtaking, making the experience even more enjoyable.
