A Pinot Noir Event

Which Fine Wines Will Make It to the Top Ten in the Competition?

Its majestic elegance, its intense aroma of red and dark berries, and its soft fullness make it a grandiose wine. It is not only here in Alto Adige that Pinot Noir has achieved a lofty reputation. All of Italy is known for the high-quality wines from this grape.

This spring, from April 29 to May 2, the Pinot Noir Festival will be held for the twenty-fourth time in the Alto Adige wine strongholds of Egna and Montagna. The heart of the event – namely, the competition to determine the best Pinot Noir in Italy – will already take the stage as early as the middle of March. And once again this year, the wines, which at this edition will be those of the 2019 vintage, will be scrutinized by an jury of experts. At the tasting in the Laimburg Research Centre, the wines will be sampled individually. This guarantees the independent judgment by the individual jurors, while at the same time raising the level of the entire competition. But wine lovers will have to be patient until the winners are announced on April 29 at Enna Castle in Montagna.

Within the framework of the Pinot Noir Festival, wines will be presented from 85 winemakers from 9 Italian regions. A special highlight for visitors will be the tastings at the table, which participants will need to reserve. The rest of the program for this year has also already been established.

So the next few weeks will be exciting: the stage is set for the majestic Pinot Noir and its many multifaceted expressions.
