Wine & Advent on the Alto Adige Wine Route

Opened Wineries during Christmas Markets

With their colorful array of local crafts and regional products, the original Alto Adige Christmas Market enchant the cities of Bolzano, Bressanone, Merano, Vipiteno, and Brunico. Contemplative melodies, holiday trees all aglitter, and the twinkling eyes of children fill the town squares with their magic in the weeks before Christmas.

The anticipation of the big celebration is also fully felt at the cooperative wineries and estate wineries along the Alto Adige Wine Route during the “Wine & Advent” initiative. In parallel with the Christmas Markets, some twenty-five cooperative wineries and estate wineries will open their doors in order to provide wine enthusiast visitors with a view of the long tradition of winegrowing and winemaking, complete with tastings and winery tours. On the weekends of Advent from November 25 to December 25 as well as on the holiday of December 8, it will thus be possible to combine a visit to the Christmas Market in Bolzano with a side trip devoted to the pleasures of wine. There are a total of twenty-two wineries participating within a radius of 20 kilometers (12 miles) of the provincial capital.

This is also the perfect occasion to pick up the perfect gift for that special someone: a bottle of Alto Adige wine, will be available at the shops of the wineries that have opened their doors and will always have a welcome place under the Christmas tree.
