Wine Ambassador at an Elevation of 2,000 Meters

Ski Instructors become Wine Experts

The fun of skiing, and interesting wine knowledge and wine tastings to boot. How does that sound to you? It will be possible this winter in Alta Badia. As a result of the extensive training of the ski instructors, the wine culture and ski culture are moving even closer together.

Within the framework of the initiative of the Consortium of Alto Adige Wine, Alta Badia, and the local ski schools, the "Ski Wine Ambassador" project has been launched this year. The ski instructors took part in a training course organised by professional sommeliers of the Alto Adige Sommelier Association. Everything from the basics of wine tasting to the differences and characteristics of Alto Adige wines were included.

The combination of landscape, skiing, and dining and oenological experiences you find in Alta Badia is unique. So ski lovers and winter holidaymakers in Alta Badia can look forward to a winter that is both exciting and educational.

More information can be found here.

The following ski schools are participating:

Ski School Corvara
Ski School San Cassiano
Ski School La Villa
Ski School Dolomites

Here are some events within the theme of wine and skiing enjoyment that you should not miss this winter in Alta Badia:

  • Gourmet Ski Safari in December. The event marks the official start of the culinary winter season in Alta Badia. Every year again, young and innovative chefs will treat guests to special dishes accompanied by the best Alto Adige wines.
  • Sommeliers on the Slopes: After the success of the last few years, this event will take place again this year. On selected dates, participants will be accompanied by ski instructors on the slopes and welcomed in two Alpine refuges with a selection of the best Alto Adige wines. In addition, three special editions will take place where four Alto Adige wines may be tasted in combination with special dishes.
