The “Top of Alto Adige Wines” Returns
The Exclusive Tasting of the Best Wines of Alto Adige
The ninth edition of the “Top of Alto Adige Wines” event is arriving. On November 29 at Gustelier, the tasting workshop of the Association of Hotel and Restaurant Owners in Bolzano, experts and wine lovers will be able to taste the best wines of Alto Adige that have won awards from the renowned Italian and international wine guides for their 2020 editions.
A total of 134 wines from sixty Alto Adige wineries received recognition from prestigious Italian guides such as Gambero Rosso, L’Espresso, Slow Wine, Veronelli, Vini Buoni, Bibenda, Vitae of the Italian Association of Sommeliers, and Guida Essenziale of Doctor Wine, as well as the international guides of Robert Parker, Falstaff, and James Suckling.
This year, the number of recognitions for our wines grew with respect to the previous year, a sign of their excellent quality. Which among them achieved the greatest number of recognitions?
There are five Alto Adige wines which received awards from five wine guides:
- Alto Adige Terlano Pinot Bianco Rarity 2006 from the Terlano Winery
- Alto Adige Terlano I Grande Cuvèe 2016 from the Terlano Winery
- Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer 2017 from the Tramin Winery
- Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Vendemmia Tardiva Epokale 2012 from the Tramin Winery
- Alto Adige Lagrein Riserva Taber 2017 from the Bolzano Winery
Four wines received awards from four guides, eight of them from three, 24 of them from two, and a total of 82 of them received one recognition.
Once again this year, the Terlano Winery brought home the greatest number of recognitions: some seventeen of them for seven different wines. They were followed by the Tramin Winery and, in third place, we find the San Michele Appiano Winery.
Tickets for the tasting may be purchased directly at the event. We look forward to seeing you on November 29 at the tasting workshop of the Association of Hotel and Restaurant Owners [Unione Albergatori e Pubblici Esercenti (HGV)] in Bolzano to taste the best wines of Alto Adige!
