The winegrowing communities of Terlano, Andriano, Settequerce, and Vilpiano along the Terlano Wine Trail have much to tell, because this is where Alto Adige’s first winery cooperatives were formed more than 120 years ago. Guided hikes are available from August to October, with knowledgeable guides providing interesting information on history, the individual vineyards, grape varieties, growth training systems, and the old manors around Terlano. The vineyards are particularly fascinating in the autumn. The people working with the wine harvest and in the wineries can be observed, and the change of seasons makes itself deeply felt. It goes without saying that the guided hike also includes breaks for wine tasting, making palate and taste buds tingle. The Terlano Wine Route can also be simply traveled at any time on your own by starting out from the Terlan Winery through old settlement structures that have grown up through the ages and through the vineyards spaced out around the village of Terlano. The numerous information plaques are worth a quick stop to get to know the history of winegrowing in the villages of the Adige Valley.
