Many hands, one signature

A family-run winery and distinctive wines from Kaltern

The Arkahof winery was established in 2011, although its roots go back much further. The different vineyards were brought together as a single farm holding in 2000. Since then, the Sölva family has worked together in the vineyards, with clearly defined responsibilities, strong personal commitment and a close connection to the wine-growing landscape around Kaltern.

Roland Sölva oversees the work in the cellar and manages the winemaking process together with a cellar master. Rosi carries out many of the tasks in the vineyards, from tying the vines to tending the foliage. Their son Armin is responsible for the technical work in the vineyards and during vinification, while their daughter Karin takes care of accounting, wine records and sales. When harvest begins, the entire family works side by side.

The estate’s approximately three hectares of vineyards are spread across several sites in the Kaltern growing area. These include Anwalthöfe in Oberplanitzing, Barleit, Spiegel by Lake Kaltern, Trifall and Rosslaf. The different locations provide the basis for a varied selection of white and red grape varieties, each contributing its own character to the wines.

White, red and rosé wines with a clear and approachable style are produced in the family’s own cellar. The range extends from Schiava, Lagrein and Pinot Noir to Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Golden Muscat. A selection of grappas completes the portfolio. At the heart of Arkahof are distinctive wines shaped by their varieties, the vineyards of Kaltern and the shared work of the family.
