Vineyards at high altitude

Where vines grow today, meadows and livestock farming once shaped everyday life on this traditional mountain farm. The estate has belonged to the Röll family since the 1950s. After completing his education at the Laimburg School for Fruit Growing and Viticulture, Fabian Röll and his father decided to give the farm a new direction. The first 0.6 hectares of Müller-Thurgau were planted in 2013, followed by Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. Today, the vineyards cover approximately two hectares.

Several generations of the family work together at the estate. Friedrich, affectionately known within the family as Tata Friedl, takes care of the many practical tasks around the farm with quiet determination. Renate coordinates organisational matters and oversees sales. Fabian contributes his expertise in viticulture and develops new ideas, while Sophia supports the winery with her knowledge of online marketing and sales. Even the youngest generation is already part of daily life on the farm.

The vineyards are situated in Unterinn on the sunny Renon plateau, at an exceptional elevation of 1,050 metres above sea level and with views of the Dolomites. Around 300 days of sunshine and cool autumn nights shape the development of the grapes. The low night-time temperatures naturally preserve acidity while also contributing to lower sugar levels. These high-altitude conditions provide an excellent basis for producing fresh and long-lived sparkling wines.

At the heart of the range is Brut 1050, made from Müller-Thurgau using the traditional method with secondary fermentation in the bottle. Its fine bubbles, vibrant freshness and Alpine origins define its character. The portfolio is complemented by small bottles of aperitif in a variety of flavours, ranging from lavender and green apple to pomegranate and rose. In this way, the Röll winery combines the heritage of a South Tyrolean mountain farm with a young and informal approach to enjoyment.
